As weird as it may seem to a layman that there are still age old lightings, and that these are sold at a whopping sum, the chances are that he will give a hearty laugh and move on, but not for the art lovers, and the collectors. The antiques as the word suggests are the articles or objects which are very old and have historic value attached to them, hence are priced highly.

Become A Positive Person

Being in a depressed state causes what I call the “Me Syndrome”. If you are depressed or know someone who is depressed, what is the most prevalent thing on your mind? When I am in that zone all I can think about is how awful I feel. I don’t function as a wife or a mother and I just want to be left alone. The last thing on my mind is keeping my house clean; doing dishes, making money or giving hugs and kisses to my children. When I come out of these zones I am riddled with guilt when I see the state that I have left my family in. My children become very sensitive and fight and argue with me and each other. My husband is afraid to talk to me for fear he might say something to set me off. My home is in total disarray. The scary thing to me is that I don’t notice any of this while I’m in a state of depression. All I notice is that no one respects my right to privacy. Thus, the “Me Syndrome”.

Slowdown In Bangkok Office Market

The Bangkok office market experienced a slowdown in the first quarter of 2007. The reason for this lull is due to limited leasing activity and companies putting expansion plans on hold as political and economic uncertainties persist.

”The impact of the political uncertainty on the Thai economy has caused the country’s GDP forecasts to be revised downwards to 3.0-3.5% compared to the previous forecast of 4.0-4.5% following a decline in consumption and private investment,” said Suphin Mechuchep, managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle Thailand. “The impact is also being felt by the Bangkok office sector which has seen lower levels of new demand.”

Why Your Business Should Blog

I talk a lot about how times, they are a changin’. It’s inevitable that we will not be able to reach customers in the ways we did in the past. To successfully grow any business, you have to be open to change. Customers adapt faster than businesses, and that’s the downfall of many companies. It’s a tiresome race, always trying to find the new way to market before the consumer discovers it, but it’s a necessary evil.

Lionkedin And Facebook

The press loves a food fight, good vs. evil, Microsoft vs. Netscape (Netscape? Remember them?), Microsoft vs. Linux, Microsoft vs. Google. Okay, enough already. The one I’ll talk about today is LinkedIn vs. Facebook.

For those of you that have been living under a rock and use neither, LinkedIn is a social networking site where people can post their online resumes and search for jobs or business connections. I have been a member for several years and have several hundred people whom I have met over my career. I have used LinkedIn for doing research on companies and finding sources to interview for stories or leads to new story ideas, as well as a place where I can collect references for previous work that I have done for my consulting clients. It is also a great place to keep track of people when they change jobs, or about to. (The recent CMP layoffs were presaged by a flurry of connect requests, for example.)

Retire? Not Me!

Someone recently asked me what I planned to do when I retired. “Retire?” I asked. “I’m not planning to retire!” I can’t think of anything much worse. What would I do if I weren’t pursuing my passion? Yes, my work is my passion and I hope to be pursuing it for many more years.

I like to travel, just not for long periods of time. I don’t play golf. I do mess around in my garden, but this only takes a few hours of my week. I love to read, but I couldn’t read all day, every day.

Problems And Achievements In Protein Crystallography

Protein crystallography plays one of the most important roles in the structural study of the different proteins. Currently in is impossible to analyze protein functionality without knowing the exact molecular structure of this particular protein. The detailed information about positions of all amino acid residues is crucially important for analysis of protein function.

The protein crystallography is relatively young branch of science, which was started from studies of the DNA-double helix structure by James Watson and Francis Crick in April 1953. Currently, it is possible to solve the structure of whole virus with atomic resolution by this technique.
